Founder

Russ Ackerman has been preparing for DOXA for over four decades.

A lifelong creator and builder, Russ founded DOXA as the capstone of that journey: a Venture + Content + Photography consultancy that brings order, truth, and beauty to a chaotic world. DOXA partners with organizations to build strategic ventures, create narrative content, and capture evocative photography that advance the human experience.

Russ’s career has been defined by building ventures with Fortune 500 rigor. He forged market-leading International, Sustainability, and Geopolitical practices at KPMG; built Bertelsmann’s first global e-commerce markets; opened Africa’s internet content markets for Prodigy; and pioneered new consumer categories for Procter & Gamble and Mars in post-Communist Eastern Europe.

In parallel, he created and directed content for top-tier media and brands worldwide. At 30, he traveled round-the-world to better understand the human condition and discovered photography’s ability to capture glimpses of the human experience. With his late wife, Sue, a designer, he co-created beauty while navigating her 20-year medical trauma, later deepening his insights as a Gotham Theology Fellow - amassing over ten thousand photographs and reflections.

Today, he fuses these experiences at DOXA: advising ThirdWay Capital on Sub-Saharan ventures, producing Paradox, a photo-essay book on the search for beauty amid pain across 60+ countries, and May Fifth, memoir of a deferred 30-year quest for normalcy. He lives in Connecticut in the co-designed with Sue, and savors time with his grown children, Adriana and Alexander, and dog, Moose.
